The Transformations of Chappie In the beginning of â€Å"The Rule of the Bone†, Chappie was living with his mother and his stepfather. It was obvious that his mother her husband more then her own son. This was the first problem. The other problem was that Chappie’s stepfather was an alcoholic and abusive. He used to sexually assault Chappie and abuse his wife. In this situation, Chappie was dependant on his mother and stepfather for; shelter, food and clothing. He was getting himself in trouble constantly and was heavy into weed, which led to him leaving his mother’s house and moving in with his friend Russ. Chappie’s friend Russ rented out an apartment above a video store where he worked with this other guy Bruce who was a biker. Chappie didn’t have a room at Russ’s apartment; instead he used the couch like it was a bed. While international organizations exist as a means of mitigating conflicts between states, these organizations are made up by states themselves, which means that it is difficult to force states to concede to the collective interest of others, because governments will always vote in favor on actions that best protect their self interest (Ashley 1981, 222).
